Patrick Flanigan gets a shot at the new Winchester SXP.
Making friends with Winchester's newest shotgun.

Flanigan's first look at the Super X Pump.

This spring we received a special visit from Winchester friend, Xtreme Sport Shooter Patrick Flanigan. Flanigan was here at our headquarters and R&D facility in Morgan, Utah to get his first serious look at pre-production Winchester Super X Pump shotguns and put them through the paces. He was able to play with a couple Super X Pumps at this year's Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (the SHOT Show), but had yet to put one through the paces.

That's exactly what he did, shooting over 2,500 rounds of AAs, demolishing fruits, vegetables, and canned goods -- along with cases of ammunition as he broke in the new SXPs he will be using in his upcoming exhibitions. 20 cases of clay pigeons met their fate as Flanigan performed for the cameras in the filming of several new TV commercials for both the new Super X Pump and the Super X3 shotgun.

Flanigan continues to have the "magic trigger finger" and can fire stings of rounds with the new Super X Pump that sound more like an autoloader than a pump. And as filming progressed, all of us at Winchester Repeating Arms were able to listen to the 12 shot Super X3 strings that have made Patrick famous across the globe. The new Super X Pump shotgun is very fast shooting as well. In fact, it looks almost exactly like its namesake, the Super X3 -- from the Inflex recoil pad system, to the Quadra-Vent™ ports on the forearm, to the competition-proven Invector Plus choke tubes. Flanigan also tried his hand with the shorter-barreled Super X Pump Defender version with its 18" barrel and five plus one total capacity.

To Flanigan speed is everything. To be able to toss 11 clay pigeons into the air and hit them all individually before they hit the ground takes a shotgun with flawless speed and function. His world record doing this is with the shotgun considered the fastest autoloader in the world: the Super X3. He also holds the hip shooting world record with a pump of six individually shot clay birds using the predecessor of the Super X Pump, the Winchester "Speed Pump." Now with his own large capacity Super X Pump -- and a bit hard core training -- Patrick expects to "wow the world" with his new Super X Pump -- hoping eventually to take a crack at his existing pump records.

The film crew films Flanigan as he tosses a handful of clay birds and rattles off a string of shots. You will be able to see this footage in upcoming commercials and in special videos on Winchester-guns.com this fall.
The cameras catch Flanigan as he tosses seven clay pigeons up in the air, to be shot by his new Super X Pump.
Flanigan Poses with his trusted Super X3 exhibition autoloader. It features a special 12 shot "exhibition/competition" magazine, the bright red receiver and extended Winchester Signature choke tubes.
