On July 11th, 2012, Raniero Testa, Winchester 's top exhibition shooting in Europe broke a world record at the Circolo Arcera in Italy. But it was only the beginning. Take the speed and performance of the Winchester® Super X3™ shotgun; put the gun in the hands of Raniero Testa and you have all the ingredients you need for breaking more world records.
Saint-Petersburg (Russia), Saturday, June 1st 2013… A blue sky, calm, a few clouds, a large number of spectators who have come for the event and a few officials are also present… Eyes meet, tension is at its highest. Not a sound is to be heard.
Then, 9 shots ring out in nearly one second. Was it fast enough? Yes.
Raniero Testa, equipped with a standard Winchester Super X3, has just broken 9 clays in the air, thrown himself, in 1.1 seconds with a semi-automatic shot gun -- before they touch the ground. This broke the record set by late Tom Knapp who broke the same number of clays in two seconds.
This new world record has was confirm by the team of witness and officially registered by the InterRecord agency and relayed by the Guinness Book of Records.
Raniero Testa has once again shown his exceptional skills as well as the reliability, speed and performance of the Winchester Super X3. There is a clear reason that the Super X3 is recognized as the fastest shotgun in the world.
This was not the first record for Testa. On July 11th, 2012, 7 years after our previous record was set (by a former Winchester shooter). he became the first person in history to hit twelve clay pigeons in the air and break them individually, before hitting the ground. And he did it in front of witnesses including a notary, three Fitav judges, Gianluca Muoio, the world trench shooting champion and other personalities from the world of shooting.
“The secret is in the way you throw it”, explains Raniero Testa. “The clays must be in the ideal position. Then, once you have succeeded in throwing them perfectly, you just need to have high-performance tools in hand. The Super X3 is the fastest semi-auto in the world. That’s exactly why I used it, because I tried a host of others, but without success, before Winchester made their equipment available to me free-of-charge”.
For many years Winchester Super X semi-automatic shotguns have been reputed for their high speed, their easy, rapid handling, their natural aiming, their exceptional reliability and their low recoil. The Winchester SX3 is the latest and fastest ever.
Raniero Testa, a shooter sponsored by Winchester at demonstrations, has become the first person in history to hit twelve clay pigeons in the air and break them one by one, before the first one has touched the ground.
