U.S. Repeating Arms Company Introduces The Winchester Super Short Magnum (WSSM).
Morgan, UT – What do you get when you evolve the high performance Winchester Short Magnum concept into the realm of smaller, high velocity bullets? You get the 223 and 243 Winchester Super Short Magnums (WSSM). Winchester firearms, in partnership with Browning and Winchester ammunition, once again lights a fire within the shooting industry. The 223 and 243 WSSM calibers are the latest exciting additions to the Model 70 family. This short fat firecracker of a cartridge is so short (2.36") that a totally new short action – super short if you will – had to be developed. If punching holes in paper is your game or if pursuing whitetail on the edge of a corn field gets your ticker going, the new Winchester Super Short Magnum Model 70 is the rifle for you. Available in both traditional Featherweight with controlled round feed action and push feed system in a new Super Shadow stock design. Also available in the popular Coyote configuration. With suggested retail prices from $543 to $769, the new WSSM Model 70’s have the potential to be the best bench and hunting systems ever.
