Winchester Introduces The 325 WSM Caliber For 2005.
MORGAN, UTAH— Since its inception in 2001, the Winchester Short Magnum has become the most popular caliber concept in decades. For 2005, Winchester firearms and Winchester® Ammunition have teamed together to introduce the new 325 WSM caliber. The new hard hitting 325 WSM is built to take on the thick-skinned and heavy-shouldered big game animals found from Alaska to Africa. Combining the velocity of the 300 Win. Mag. with the knockdown power of the 338 Win. Mag., the 325 WSM offers all the power need to take on big game animals in a lighter short action rifle.
The new 325 WSM will be offered in the time-tested Winchester Model 70 bolt action rifle. If there were a single feature responsible for the Model 70 being labeled the "bolt-action rifle of the century", it would arguably be the classic, Controlled Round Feed bolt design. The massive claw extractor secures approximately ¼ of the cartridge base and fully controls the cartridge. Some Model 70 rifles chambered in the new 325 WSM will feature the Controlled Round Push Feed bolt that gives the sureness of Controlled Round Feed with single shot loading convenience of push feed bolt designs.
Model 70's offered in the new 325 WSM caliber include the Ultimate Shadow, Camo Ultimate Shadow, Classic Featherweight, Classic Laminated, Super Grade RMEF (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation) and Super Grade III in Controlled Round Feed bolt. Controlled Push feed models will include the Super Shadow, Coyote Laminated and the new Coyote Synthetic Lite model. All models will feature 24" barrels with three round magazine capacity. Suggested Retail starting at $554.00.
