“Speak softly and carry a big stick.” Theodore Roosevelt. This African proverb was a favorite of Roosevelt, and his favorite big stick was the Winchester Model 1895.
This special rifle honors Roosevelt on his 150th Birthday Anniversary (October 27, 1858) and commemorates him as the greatest conservationist the world has ever known. He set the standard that prevails today. He was not about talk – he was about action. And because of this we still have many places to enjoy and hunt and fish and explore all across America.
The Theodore Roosevelt 150th Anniversary High Grade Rifles are patterned after the Winchester 1895s he loved. Basic in their configuration as he liked, these special rifles are embellished with an array of engraved North American big game scenes -- engraved on the receiver with gold highlights – showing the game he loved to pursue and the game that put him in the wilds where he developed the strongest, most modern conservation ethic in history. And today, this heritage continues for hunters and shooters all across America.
This is a Limited Edition run of 1,000 High Grade special rifles sold individually.
Each rifle includes a gold Theodore Roosevelt signature on the receiver.
Buckhorn rear sight, Marble’s Gold Bead front sight. Drilled and tapped for receiver mount sight (not included), and more. Special Grade 2-3 Walnut.
Of course, chambered in 405 Winchester.
