What Makes the Super X® Rifle so
Fast, Reliable and Accurate?
Gas Operation Reduces Felt Recoil.
The gas-operated action of the Super X Rifle is simple, reliable and easy to maintain. Plus it does what other rifles, even inertia-operated autoloaders, simply can’t do: reduce felt recoil as much as 45% over the competition.
In addition to greater shooting comfort, reducing felt recoil has the advantage of reducing shot recovery time, allowing you to get back on target faster for a second shot if needed. And if you’ve ever spent an afternoon shooting from a bench or send round after round at prairie dogs, you’ll also appreciate the reduced “flinch factor” that a comfortable-to-shoot rifle provides, even with magnum cartridges. Only a gas-operated action can give you all of these benefits.
The simple gas system consists of the gas piston, recoil spring and two rigid steel action bars that operate the bolt — that’s it! And with this simplicity comes the reliability you expect from Winchester Rifles and Shotgun.
Don’t forget speed either. In heavy cover, you can easily follow your target for that second shot instead of pausing to work a bolt.
A recoil buffer is added to reduce wear on critical components.
Ultrastrong Rotary Bolt.
Firing magnum cartridges requires a rifle to be exceedingly strong, exactly the reason why most of our competitors’ autoloaders aren’t offered in heavy calibers.
The Super X Rifle features a slick multiple lug bolt that rotates into position and locks securely into the rear of the barrel to provide more than enough strength to handle magnum cartridges. This precision-fit direct bolt-to-barrel lockup also helps make the Super X Rifle every bit as accurate as many bolt action rifles. Additionally, the cartridge case head fits into a recess in the bolt face, and then is surrounded by the barrel and finally the receiver. This adds up to three solid layers of metal for magnum strength.
Detachable Box Magazine.
The Super X Rifle is fed from a reliable detachable box magazine. It is easily removed from the rifle via a convenient release just in front of the trigger guard. For rapid reloading, additional magazines are readily available and can be loaded and kept at hand in your pocket or pack. A cutaway side window allows you to easily count the number of cartridges that remain in the magazine. The magazine holds three magnum cartridges or four standard cartridges.
Styling and Ergonomics.
The Super X Rifle has sleek styling designed to separate it from the competition, but the looks follow the function. The design is optimized to provide neutral handling and perfect cheek placement on the comb. The grip of the stock is narrow and neatly checkered for excellent control regardless of the size of your hand. The high-quality alloy receiver reduces overall weight and provides ideal balance and fast handling.
Recoil Absorption from the Industry Leader.
We turned to Pachmayr® to provide the finest recoil pad available. As the industry leader in recoil absorption technology, their proven Decelerator® pad doesn’t disappoint. Unlike gel pads that feel good at the gun counter but get too hard or soft in temperature extremes, this ultrasoft, incredibly efficient pad stays consistent and absorbs recoil over a broad range of conditions.
Accuracy.
The biggest criticism with many autoloading rifles is accuracy, because most of them simply can’t match the shooting performance of an average bolt-action rifle or single-shot rifle. This isn’t the case with the Super X Rifle. With precise bolt-to-barrel fit and a high-quality hammer-forged barrel, the Super X Rifle has the capability of shooting near minute-of-angle with the right ammunition.
